‘Vaccines DO NOT equal zero Covid,’ says WHO, ‘concerned’ about people’s belief pandemic will soon be over


The World Health Organization has urged people to continue to take the coronavirus outbreak seriously and not to act as though the pandemic will soon be over, despite recent progress in the development of Covid-19 vaccines.

“Progress on vaccines gives us all a lift and we can now start to see the light at the end of the tunnel”, the organization’s Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Friday, before adding: “However, WHO is concerned that there is a growing perception that the Covid-19 pandemic is over.”
